Company is one of the world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies, with a focus on developing therapies for serious neurologic diseases. We are committed to research that uncovers the underlying biology of complex diseases. The medicinal chemistry group at company is seeking a creative and self-motivated organic chemist to design, develop, and apply existing and new technologies to antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate drug discovery. The position is designed to provide a unique opportunity for scientists to gain exposure to drug discovery & development and train in an industry research setting. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-function teams and leverage your strong chemistry background to synthesize oligonucleotide conjugates and support various company programs.
What You’ll Do
- You will be joining the medicinal chemistry team at company, and work in a cross-functional and multidisciplinary environment to support our antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate platform.
- As part of the medicinal chemistry effort, you will use your strong chemistry background to design, synthesize and purify functionalized oligonucleotides amenable to antibody bioconjugation. You will propose and optimize novel synthetic and bioconjugation methods to support our fast-evolving antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate platform.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functions teams across medicinal chemistry and other departments to solve complex problems, including reaction optimization, assess synthetic feasibility, and propose novel ideas/concepts.
- You will actively participate in discussions and present results in team meetings.

- You are a team player with a strong background in medicinal/synthetic organic chemistry, capable of running reactions in parallel, and eager to explore new chemistry transformations. You love learning new technological skills and you are interested in improving process efficiencies. You are self-driven, well organized and a team player who can juggle multiple challenges in parallel to make impactful contributions to drug discovery.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. (1-3 years of experience[KG1.1]) or M.Sc (8+ years of experience) with strong chemistry background
- Excellent knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry. Proficient in techniques related to synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds.
- Ability to independently design, plan, execute and interpret experiments.
- Demonstrated track record of publications, and/or scientific presentations.
- Should be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with antibody-drug conjugate or antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate drug discovery is a plus.
- Experience with bioconjugation chemistry is a plus.
- Familiarity with drug discovery in an industrial setting.
Compensation Details:

- The Pay Range for this position is $57.46 per hour, can vary depending on employment status.
