Orbis Clinical is seeking a Research Associate, Chemistry in La Jolla, CA for 6 months.
Overview
Client is seeing a Research Associate, synthetic chemistry to join their team in La Jolla. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for the design, synthesis, and analysis of organic compounds. The ideal candidate will have biotech/pharma experience in aspects of medicinal chemistry, automated synthesis, and high throughput assay execution. The candidate is expected to be a strong team player, who enjoys scientific discovery and can communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.
What You Will Contribute
- Operation and maintenance of various automated synthesis and purification systems
- Synthesis, purification, and analysis of small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides
- Optimization and implementation of high throughput assays for discovery research
- Analyze and interpret experimental data
- Preparation and communication of research results in both oral and written formats
- Perform other laboratory duties as required
What They Seek
- BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline with 0 – 3 years industry experience
- Familiar with the automated synthesis, purification, and analysis of organic molecules
- Prior experience with screening-based assays is preferred
- Experience in a lab environment focused on medicinal chemistry is favorable
- Proven ability to conduct self-directed research, and to work effectively in a dynamic environment with a diverse team of co-workers
- Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary
Compensation Details:
- Orbis Clinical provides a reasonable range of compensation for our positions. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience and specific office location.
- The Pay Range for this position is $36-$65hr per hour, can vary depending on employment status.
