Orbis Clinical is seeking a Contract, Senior Facilities Engineer located in Hopkinton, MA for less than 6 months.

Job Title: Contract, Senior Facilities Engineer

Location: Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Contract: less than 6 months (potential to extend)

Overview:

The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility systems and infrastructure. This role primarily focuses on managing and optimizing facilities operations, including the maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. While the primary focus is on facilities operations, the role also ensures that safety standards and regulations are strictly adhered to in the day-to-day operation of the facility. The Senior Facilities Engineer will be a key player in maintaining facility systems, overseeing maintenance programs, and supporting a safety-conscious work environment across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of comprehensive facilities maintenance programs to optimize facility performance.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of critical facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensuring systems are reliable and efficient.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and assessments to ensure systems are functioning properly and in compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols related to facility operations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazardous waste management, ensuring safety remains a priority during maintenance and operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational and safety-related issues, ensuring efficient facility management without compromising safety.
  • Manage and coordinate facility projects, including upgrades and repairs, ensuring alignment with budget, timeline, and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and facility maintenance best practices.
  • Supervise facility maintenance staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety and operational protocols.
  • Act as the main point of contact for contractors and vendors, ensuring facility operations are executed to company standards, including safety compliance.
  • Monitor and report on facility performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Facilities Management Expertise: Extensive experience in managing and maintaining facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to develop, implement, and optimize maintenance programs to maximize facility performance and minimize downtime.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols, with experience ensuring safety standards are maintained within facilities management operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and experience with facility management software and building systems.
  • Project Management: Experience managing projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and coordinating with contractors, while ensuring the successful completion of facility improvements and maintenance tasks.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of facilities maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety, operational, and performance standards.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to facilities management (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, EPA) and the ability to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve both operational and safety challenges efficiently.
  • Valid license: Drivers license and ability to support off hour emergencies if needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) or related field, or equivalent experience in facilities engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in facilities maintenance management and/ or engineering, focusing on the operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Relevant licensure or certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields.
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing or large-scale facility operations preferred.
  • Project management experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols and operational best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects.
  • Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include peripheral vision and depth perception.

Compensation Details:

  • Orbis Clinical is an equal opportunity employer that provides a reasonable range of compensation for our positions. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience and specific office location.
  • The Pay Range for this position is $53 - $73 per hour, can vary depending on employment status.
