Job Title: Director, Pricing Strategy, Contracting, & Government Operations
Duration: 6 months, possible extension or conversion, not guaranteed
Location: Remote, US. EST strongly preferred
Travel: ~20% travel, primarily to U.S. HQ office based in Boston
Role Summary
The Director will serve as a key architect of the U.S. commercial value proposition. You will lead a team responsible for the entire pricing and contracting lifecycle – including the development of price strategies and scenario planning, compliance with government price reporting and contract requirements, and gross-to-net forecasting.
This leader will bridge the gap between Finance, Commercial, and Legal to ensure our therapies in rare oncology and neurology are positioned for optimal access and long-term financial sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Pricing & Pre-Signature Analytics
- Pricing Architecture: Lead the development of U.S. pricing strategies for both pipeline (BD/Launch) and in-line products, ensuring alignment with clinical value and market dynamics.
- Contract Strategy: Design innovative contracting frameworks (Commercial, Part D, Medicaid) and conduct rigorous pre-deal analytics to model impact on access and profitability.
- Policy & Transparency: Monitor federal/state policy changes (e.g., IRA) and manage state price transparency reporting requirements.
- Governance: Act as a lead advisor to the U.S. Pricing Committee, providing data-driven assumptions for all pricing and forecasting submissions.
- GTN Management & Financial Integration
- Financial Stewardship: Oversee the GTN “waterfall” analysis, providing precise estimates, roll-ups, and revisions for quarterly and annual financial submissions.
- Forecasting Collaboration: Partner closely with Finance to integrate pricing assumptions, discount trends, and channel mix changes into the organizational long-range plan.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify GTN risks and opportunities through variance analysis and trend modeling.
- Post-Signature Operations & Government Pricing
- Contract Administration: Direct the management of commercial and government contract data, ensuring accurate system integration and performance tracking.
- Government Pricing (GP) Compliance: Ensure meticulous execution of GP calculations and adherence to all regulatory reporting mandates.
- Performance Analytics: Establish KPIs to evaluate contract effectiveness, ensuring that executed deals deliver the expected volume and access ROI.
Requirements:
- Experience: 12+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with at least 5-7 years specifically in Pricing, Contracting, or Market Access Finance.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in GTN accounting, government pricing regulations, and U.S. payer archetypes.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing multi-functional teams and influencing executive-level stakeholders (Pricing Committees/CFOs), while also demonstrating a willingness to provide ‘hands-on’ support for the team.
- Therapeutic Knowledge: Experience in Oncology or Rare Disease is highly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced financial degree preferred.
Compensation Details:

- The Pay Range for this position is $140.00 – $195.00 per hour, can vary depending on employment status.
